Try These Quick Fishing Tips

Relax!

relax_and_fish.jpgLeave problems behind and take along a smile, an open mind, and a bit of patience.

Basics First

basics_first.jpgSimple equipment in good working order will help avoid frustration. An inexpensive rod and reel, with bait and a bobber, will get you off to a good start.

Make it a Shore thing

shoreline_fishing.jpgFishing from shore allows kids to run and play when they need to, and gives them an option for fishing on their own or with friends as they get older.

Fish for Little Fish

small_fish.jpgCatching fish is important; size isn't. For example, sunfish and other pan-sized fish are often plentiful and easily caught by beginners. Larger fish can be sought when the basic skills are in place.

Once you catch a fish, how do you clean it?
(press this link to learn how)

Be Responsible

role_model.jpgYou are a role model, so set a good example. Share your awareness of and respect for the environment, private property and other anglers. Discuss the rules and regulations with your child.

Don't Litter

dont_litter.jpgPlease leave the area as clean or cleaner than you found it.

Safety First
